Very good condition except tiny indents to the prints about the size of a staple; some light fading and discoloration to some of the images as is common with mimeograph prints; tiny tear to top edge of Ruscha print. The New Painting of Common Objects is often considered the first museum exhibition of Pop Art. The exhibition was curated by Walter Hopps at the Pasadena Art Museum from Sept 25-Oct 19 1962. The show included: Jim Dine, Robert Dowd, Joe Goode, Phillip Hefferton, Roy Lichtenstein, Edward Ruscha, Wayne Thiebaud, and Andy Warhol. Ruscha designed a poster for the exhibition, and all of the artists except Warhol, Lichtenstein and Thiebaud produced a mimeograph print that was included in a simple white envelope with a title label and sent out to select few with a folded copy of the poster. Offered are a complete set of the 5 original prints. A xerox of the front cover of the original envelope is also provided. The Ruscha poster is not included but a facsimile of the poster may still be available from the Norton Simon Museum. A Pop art rarity.
