    [34] + 261pp., first and only edition, 27cm., with engraved vignette on title page, engraved head pieces and capitals, text in Latin, modern (early 20th cy.?) hardcover binding (spine in vellum, corners bumped), some occasional foxing and light staining, few small wormholes in first twelf pages (not affecting text), good condition, [Dom Malachia (born Joseph-Dominique) d'Inguimbert was a French Cistercian monk, born in 1683 and died in 1757, in Carpentras. After his studies in France, he left for Italy (1709-1735). In 1735 he was appointed bishop of Carpentras ; he moved back there taking with him his large library. He expanded his collection to more than 25.000 volumes and allowed the public to access it from 1745. His "library-museum" still exists and is now called the "Inguimbertine" in honour of its founder. His book "Specimen Catholicae." is one of his first own publications and contains among others the following chapters: Deus exsistit, Deus universis rebus summa beneficentia prospicit, Humanae Mentis immortalitas demonstratur], rare, R119845.
