Hardcover. Condition: Good. This vintage 1947 book is a basic text for students interested in vocational agriculture. (It includes livestock farming enterprises and their operation, the importance of livestock incorporation on every farm, biographies of leaders in the livestock industry, etc.) Most of the pages are clean and unm…arked but some do have pen and/or pencil marks. A couple of pages have been torn & re-taped but all the pages are included and readable. All the pages have tanned with age. B&W photos and illustrations compliment the text. The paste-downs and the front fly sheet have markings. The back paste-down and fly sheet are torn at the bottom and worn. Dark blue lettering and decorative art adorn the front blue cloth board and spine. The boards are faded and the edges, corners and spine are frayed. The binding is still tight and the spine is strong and square (not slanted/cocked). Overall a solid copy. FAST SHIPPING & FREE TRACKING.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the fascinating history of the Percheron horse, a breed renowned for its strength, power, and distinctive gray color. The author, a prominent figure in the world of livestock breeding, takes the reader on a journey through centuries, exploring the origins of the b…reed in the ancient province of The Perche, France. You'll discover how the Percheron evolved from a breed of war horses, through the days of the heavy mail coaches, and finally into the powerful draft horse that became synonymous with agricultural work. The book unveils previously unpublished data drawn from authentic French government records, shedding new light on the breed's development, challenging long-held assumptions about its ancestry, and revealing the true story of its rise to prominence. This book offers a comprehensive look at the Percheron horse, providing a wealth of information for anyone interested in the history of this iconic breed.
