Bill Lavarack was the Senior Botanist with Queensland National Parks and a major taxonomist and writer in this area, The book has a section (4) devoted to Conservation which includes 30 pages of colour photos of taxa and habitat. There is a section of keys to the the various taxa as well as a section (7) devoted to botanical descriptions of new species and hybrids, each with a botanical descption and full page illustration by Dockrill. The work is fully referenced.
