Seller: Antique and Collectible Books, Lead, SD, U.S.A.
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Leaves of Gold contains Bible Verses and the concepts those verses espouse, expanded upon theologically through writings from some of the foremost authorities on the subject. It's a lavish edition with several specialty pages in gloss, and two-columned print presentation. Letters use stylized print in introductory sentences, evoking 1600's lux. The binding utilizes braided string that has retained its integrity over the decades, see pictures, and traditional binding techniques of the era to achieve a functional aesthetic presentation combining both methods functionally, and artistically. This books edges along the bottom of the front cover are scuffed, the same is true of its top and several of the far corners of the cover. The spine appears undamaged. The book is leather-bound, and has a few faint blemishes here or there. Pages are intact and sit firmly in the binding. Back cover and insert pages on either end are in a glossy gold color. There is evidence of some moisture wear on only the rear insert page, and it has not seriously damaged that page, nor does it appear to extend further. There is a slight pen mark on the other side of this rear insert page. 200 Numbered Pages.
