octavo softcover (VG+); all our specials have minimal description to keep listing them viable. They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. (WILLIAMS, Tennessee). WINDHAM, Donald, ed. Tennessee Williams' Letters to Donald Windham. Orig. cloth-backed boards, non-priceclipped dust jacket. New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1977. First American edition. Crandell A43.1.c. Review copy, with publisher's slip laid in, and signed by Williams on the front flyleaf. Windham and Williams met in 1940, wrote a couple of plays together, and were friends until a falling-out after Williams published his memoirs in 1975. Williams claimed that he did not approve of the publishing of this letter collection, although this is belied by the fact that he was involved in publishing the earlier Italian edition (Verona, 1976). Fine. Signed.
