Very light tanning to endpapers. 138pp. The DJ is mylar protected but is worn at the edges and has three small holes due to insect damage at the top margin at the back. There is a 3 x 5cm strip loss to the top outer corner of the DJ at the back and some splitting of the back flap's fold. An extremely scarce autobiographical title from the eminent South West African (Namibian) historian.…

Hardcover. Condition: Good. In German. Probably the first edition, 1934 on title page, no other date. This book came from the home of the renowned actor, Theodore Bikel. His small bookplate is on the front inside cover. You can see the covers in the photos. They have some soiling. There is some crinkling at the spine ends. There is some tan spotting/foxing over the bottom half of the middle page edge. There is a very light bit of amber spotting off the top edge of the front inside cover, front blank end paper, and half-title page. It ends there. Some of the amber or tan spots on the middle page edge just barely peak over the edges of the pages. You can see these spots on the middle page edge as you turn the pages. The spots are quite conspicuous. The book is pretty solidly bound. I don't see any instances of spaces between any of the facing pages or between the covers and any of the pages. The pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any instances of soiling. I'm also not finding any conspicuous creasing. There are no markings of any kind. Mr. Bikel's bookplate is the only attachment. There is no writing anywhere in the book. There is one map. You can see it after the last page, page 666. Auf Deutsch. Dieses Buch stammt aus dem Hause des berühmten Schauspielers Theodore Bikel. Sein kleines Exlibris befindet sich auf der vorderen Innenseite des Umschlags. Auf den Fotos seht ihr die Hüllen. Sie haben einige Verschmutzungen. An den Rückenenden ist etwas geknickt. In der unteren Hälfte des mittleren Seitenrands sind einige braune Flecken/Fockflecken vorhanden. Es gibt einen sehr leichten bernsteinfarbenen Fleck am oberen Rand des vorderen Innendeckels, des vorderen leeren Vorsatzblatts und der Halbtitelseite. Es endet dort. Einige der bernsteinfarbenen oder braunen Flecken am mittleren Seitenrand ragen kaum über die Ränder der Seiten hinaus. Sie können diese Flecken am mittleren Seitenrand sehen, wenn Sie die Seiten umblättern. Die Flecken sind recht auffällig. Das Buch ist ziemlich fest gebunden. Ich sehe keine Instanzen von Leerzeichen zwischen den gegenüberliegenden Seiten oder zwischen den Deckblättern und einer der Seiten. Die Seiten sind außergewöhnlich sauber. Beim Durchblättern finde ich keine Verschmutzungen. Ich kann auch keine auffälligen Falten feststellen. Es gibt keinerlei Markierungen. Das Exlibris von Mr. Bikel ist die einzige Beilage. Es gibt nirgendwo im Buch Schrift. Es gibt eine Karte. Sie können es nach der letzten Seite sehen, Seite 666.…
