This book recounts the atrocities committed by the Roumanian government against its own subjects of Bulgarian, Czech, and German nationality throughout the land, and especially in Dobroudja. It describes the barbarous measures taken by the Roumanian authorities against those of their own citizens suspected of disloyalty prior to the Roumanians' declaration of war against Bulgaria. This included arbitrary arrests, exile, and the appalling conditions in which such 'suspects' were held. The author's eye-witness account gives vivid details of inhumane treatment, deprivation, and physical abuse of people who were detained for no crime other than their ethnicity. This book serves as a reminder of a dark episode in history, where an entire population was targeted and treated in the most barbaric manner simply because they were from nations with whom Roumania was at war. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
