To the novelist Jean Middlemass (1833-1919) with thanks for a note: "Many thanks for kindly enclosing the note to Mr Thring which I am immediately making use of [.]". - Ward created a caricature lithograph of the British lawyer and civil servant Lord Henry Thring in 1893. - With traces of old mounting and embossed letterhead.

Condition: Good. Original colour lithograph. 40 x 27 cm (15.75 x 10.6 inches). Good. Minor foxing in left margin and some wear in top edge, not affecting image. Lithograph laid-in within four pages from issue dated 5 Jul 1900, including letterpress biography of subject. Vincent Brooks, Day & Son (Lith.).
