Papierbedingt gebräunt, erste und letzte Seite lose mit Ein- und Ausrissen (Text aber vollständig), sehr wenige Bleistiftanm., sonst sauber. - Aus dem Text: Eine der bekanntesten wissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzungen innerhalb der klassischen Archäologie ist die große Fehde Furtwänglers und Benndorfs, um nur die beiden Vorkämpfer zu nennen, über die Zeit der Errichtung des Denkmals von Adamklissi, des monumentalen Siegesdenkmals, dessen riesige Ruine heute noch in der Südwestecke der Dobrudscha, etwa drei Stunden von der Donau entfernt, aufrecht steht und weithin die öde Ebene beherrscht. Der klare Wortlaut der Weihinschrift, von der sich glücklicherweise noch hinreichende Reste erhalten haben, weist es Traian und dem Jahre 109 n. Chr. zu, genauer der Zeit vom 10. Dezember 108 bis zum gleichen Datum 109. Ihm entgegen hat Furtwängler in einer Reihe von Aufsätzen die Erbauung des Denkmals mit voller Bestimmtheit in die früheste Kaiserzeit versetzt und einem Feldherrn des Augustus zugeschrieben, der bald nach 30 v. Chr. tatsächlich in diesen Gegenden gekämpft hat. Die Inschrift erklärte er für eine jüngere Zutat, wohlgemerkt nur die Inschrift, denn die Inschriftplatte gehört, wie er selbst nachgewiesen hat, zu dem ursprünglichen Bau; sie sollte aus irgendeinem Grunde damals leer geblieben sein. Auf das Hin und Her des jahrelangen Streites, der mit Furtwänglers Tode endete und ohne bestimmtes Ergebnis geblieben ist, kann ich hier nicht eingehen. - Wikipedia: Friedrich Drexel (* 29.
