He fled to England in 1936 having been a leading figure in the anti-Nazi movement in Germany. He then worked for Britain in the Ministry of Economic Warfare. Signed presentation from the author on the front endpaper, "A Monica, hommage sympathique de l'auteur, Albert." Slight rubbing and some tanning at spine, otherwise slightly used, near very good with clean text. Moyen condition.
