Unbound sheet. Ducote, Alfred (illustrator). First edition. Tinted lithograph of an equestrienne, enhanced with touches of white. Shrinkwrapped. Overall ca. 16 1/2 x 12 inches, image ca. 12 1/2 x 9 inches. Reflections in photo. Equestrian Sketches consisted of 50 plates, dated from 1838 to 1847. Very scarce: one set in WorldCat, which describes it as comprising lithographs of "important Englishmen on horses." The original owner of that set penciled in the names of the riders, identifying this portrait as one Mrs. Maberley. Shipping/handling will be extra; please keep this in mind when ordering. Good (margins browned, stained; scattered foxing to image).
