Boards. 1st ed., quarto, pp.128, b&w plates, map, genealogy charts. Original red cloth boards stamped in gilt. Presentation inscription from one of the Duffields descendants. Related press clippings tipped in to front endpapers. Typed instructions regarding the 1976 family reunion tipped in rear endpaper. Printed pamphlet regarding the family reunion loosely inserted. Addenda and errata sheet loosely inserted. Previous owner's bookplate of Western Australian author, Eleanor Smith. John Hole Duffield arrived in Western Australia in March 1830 on the Warrior. He was awarded contract for the Round House Prison woodwork and allocated four land grants in Bicton, near Fremantle. He planted the Colony's first commercially operating vineyard comprising 5,700 vines.
