The drawings of Henry Holiday and Arthur B. Frost complement Carroll's amusing poems at the rear of the volume. The familiar characters of Thumbelina, the Snow Queen, and the Ugly Duckling are captured in this illustrated volume. The volume contains 137 stories in total, along with a short biography of Hans Christian Anderson. In the publisher's original illustrated hard back binding, found in the unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, lovely, with just some shelf wear. There is a small stain to the bottom edge of the text block to the volume of Hans Christian Anderson stories.
