Add to basketDunston sets off from home, at Ewelme, Oxfordshire, with his wife, Florence, his children, & Nurse from Wallingford by train to Paddington and thence to Dover where they embark for Paris on January 29th 1885. The journal remains unread but from his proposed itinerary he intends visiting Avignon, Nimes, Amalfi, Capri, Sorento, Rome, Naples, & Florence, The journal ends on 6th May 1885 prior to their imminent return to England. Closely written in his small hand on 92-pages (approx. 6000 w0rds). 8vo (6 1/2 x 4 inches), original black flexible grained calf; very good.Frederick Warburton Dunston (1851 - 1915). Quite an undertaking with three children under the age of 6.
