In good minus pictorial boards, with colour image of pilot and part of plane to front and with brown cloth spine and black titles. The boards are flat and quite firm, edges very worn and spine ends and corners bumped and frayed. The end papers feature olive green repeat of planes and are only lightly marked. The text block is illustrated with "eight colour plates and about 250 illustrations" (black and white and sepia). The pages are level and fairly tight and hardly marked. Good plus condition. Overall condition of beards and pages is good. No dedications etc. Without jacket.

It provides a nostalgic, highly detailed look at global railway engineering, historic steam locomotives, and the daily operations of early 20th-century rail networks. Tenth edition and thought to be first printing. In good pictorial paper covered boards with colour image of front of train engine to front with gold borders and red and black titles and green cloth spine with black titles and outline of train. The boards are loose with collapsed hollow, flat, a little marked and with bumped corners and spine ends. The end papers feature purple and white humorous illustrations of trains and passengers and are lightly marked. The rear end papers have been coloured in. The text block is even and quite firm, the prelims are loose from the tail end. The half title page is lightly tanned, the cut edges are tanned; a few of the pages have small marks. There are 12 colour plates and many sepia and green and white photos and illustrations and black and white figures. The name and address of a previous owner appears on a prelim. Good condition. Without jacket.
