The first volume (Hampshire I…) appeared in 1900 and new volumes continue to be published, now much improved and updated, but remaining comprehensive, factual, reliable and unbiased reference works, based on original research. The twelfth volume on Middlesex, is a general history of Chelsea, plus accounts of landownership, economic and social history, local government and religious history. Index. Off-mint. No jacket.
