This book presents a fascinating exploration of "ballet hà roà que," an 18th-century genre of dance dramas that fused classical ballet, mythology, and heroic themes. The author meticulously examines the history, development, and cultural significance of "ballet hà roà que," tracing its evolution from the courtly spectacles of the French Renaissance to the grand spectacles that captivated audiences during the Enlightenment. Through detailed analysis of key works, the author explores how "ballet hà roà que" reflected the political, social, and aesthetic values of its time, providing fresh insights into the ways these dance dramas shaped the broader cultural landscape. This book sets out to restore the "ballet hà roà que" to its rightful place as an essential and influential art form of the 18th century. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Condition: Very Good. Very good condition. The illustrated wrappers remain bright and clean, with only minor surface rubbing and faint creases along the spine and upper front cover. Light toning appears at the extremities, consistent with age, but no stains, tears, or writing are present. The interior pages are crisp and unmarked, the text sharp, and the color plates retain their original vibrancy. The binding is tight and square, and the catalogue presents very well overall, with minimal signs of handling or shelf wear. "Affiches de Presse: Almanachs - Feuilletons - Journaux" is the exhibition catalogue issued by the Musée-Galerie de la Seita in Paris for a show held from February 1 to March 31, 1984, organized in collaboration with the Musée de la Presse. Edited by Jean Edelmann, Jean-Hugues Piettre, and Christian Bailly, with a preface by Henri Amouroux, this large-format catalogue (approximately 30 × 21 cm) surveys the art of French press and newspaper posters from the late nineteenth to the mid-twentieth century. The publication includes short artist biographies and reproductions of important works by Leonetto Cappiello, Caran d'Ache, Eugène Carrière, and others, accompanied by critical commentary and design notes. Printed by Spadem and illustrated in both color and black-and-white throughout, it reflects the height of French poster art as both journalism and visual communication. The cover design, featuring a surreal collage of a hand against a field of newspaper print, epitomizes the catalogue's thematic focus on the intersection of news, design, and modern image culture.
