To top edge or some of the front covers written in ink "Marked Copy" (presumably the publishers copy) numerous ink margin notes and occasionally across the text noting payment for articles and photographs, sometimes identifying the writer of the articles etc. Many Gilbertson & Page loose advert flyers bound in, includes traps, equipment prices, general breeding info, etc in later issues classified advertisements appear for gamekeepers' positions, dogs guns etc. . The contents clean and tight, bound in a contemporary plain green cloth with gilt title to upper covers and spines with vol numbers, some fading to the gilt to the spines. The cloth clean and the binding tight with no splits. An important periodical on gamekeeping giving an insight game shooting prior to the second world war. Articles on keepering, poaching, "hints for the month", rearing, driving, guns, dogs etc. Illustrated throughout, from photographs and drawings, also a variety of related adverts many illustrated. £760.
