After studying at Yale University where she explored the relationship between cinema, art, literature, and music, Daria Martin (born 1973 in San Francisco, lives and works in London) has resolutely opted for making films. Borrowing from a universe of everyday popular references (sport, games, shows, etc.), in her work she combines elements from avant-garde dance and cinema with a formidable formal elegance. Without falling into the trap of being seduced by the forms, movements, and abstract themes that she uses and one could make her own the words of Jacques Rancière about political work, in the sense that it reveals a "distribution of sensitivity in the social sphere.".

This book is the outcome of the 2017 edition of the summit, organized in cooperation with museum director Beautrix Ruf and her curatorial team at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Ruf chose the theme of the 2017 iteration, based on her personal experiences of institutions and their increase in scale, but also about issues that every museum is faced with, struggles with, reflects on how to address and considers in a self-critical way. Other contributors to the volume include Dave Beech, Daniel Birnbaum, Benjamin Bratton, Mark Fisher, Cissie Fu, Rem Koolhaas, Christopher Kulendran Thomas, Tobias Madison, Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, Tino Sehgal, Nicholas Serota, Anneliek Sijbrandij and John Slyce.

Made for a three-part exhibition that takes stock of Sullivan's dramatic and narrative experiments, the monograph reunites the artist's major scripts from works made in the last few years. The performative tension of the artist's work is accompanied by a Brechtian deconstruction of divisions between genre and media, which is explored in texts by the curators of the exhibitions, Beatrix Ruf, Susanne Titz, and Karola Grässlin, as well as by Sebastian Egenhofer, Nicolas Baume, Anne Pontegnie and the artist.

Z : 21 x 26,5 cm, 156 pages, 146 color & 50 b/w illustrations - Jennifer Allora (*1974, USA) and Guillermo Calzadilla (*1971, Cuba) live in Puerto Rico and have worked together since 1995. The production and use of sound is central to all their work. In a recent series of installations documented in this book they explore the continuum between noise and its structuring through music, a potentially rich tool through which cultural, social, and political relationships can be both gauged and challenged. Many of these recent works are the outcome of the artists' investigations into how power, militarism, and war are encoded into sound. They have developed a multifaceted oeuvre consisting of installations, videos, performances, social interactions, works in public space, photos, and collages. Their practice is characterized by a sense of playfulness, humour, and social involvement, and focuses on local situations, and concrete materials and forms, while providing a platform to hear resonances within a larger global context at the same time.
Hardcover. Condition: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 20,5 x 29 cm, Hardcover, 64 pages, 40 colour illustrations - First monograph Valentin Carron s sculptures mark a renewal of appropriationist discourse: through the re-employment of vernacular forms that are not part of the dominant culture, the artist develops a project confusing genres. Neither authentic nor kitsch, not readymade nor really craft, these objects play with ambiguity (fake wood, fake concrete, fake bronze, etc.) and with an iconography of power and authority (public sculptures or commemorative monuments, traditional forms, etc.). Alongside several artists such as Andro Wekua, Mai-Thu Perret, and Vidya Gastaldon, Valentin Carron (*1975) marks the emergence of a new artistic scene in Switzerland. Published with the Centre d art contemporain, Geneva, and Kunsthalle Zurich.
Softcover. Condition: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 17 x 22 cm, 232 pages, 232 color illustrations - In this book, very simply designed by the artist, with no texts, the reproduction of the art images is just as important as the works themselves. The visibility of pixels, the blurred brushstrokes, the glare of a flash reflecting on the surface of paint, or smudged xerox effects are all part of the work. Rather than highligting the process of painting, the artist is highlighting the process of art reproduction, in a reversal not dissimilar to his approach of painting itself.

Softcover. Condition: Gut. Limitierte Ausgabe. Z : Artist's book. Every year, Ringier publishes an annual report conceived by an artist. This year, Los Angeles artist Laura Owens has deployed resources and methods drawn from art history and traditional printing craftsmanship. She took as inspiration the art magazine "View," from the 1940s, when printing presses were still the pulse of every newspaper and publishing organization. She has created a very haptic cover in typographic print, as well as drawings to be reproduced using silkscreen. Allowing the inclusion of up to nine colors, this methodology implies a realization by printing experts who still master the old book and screenprinting methods. A technical challenge made visual delight. Limited edition of 300 copies.

Elad Lassry's photographs everyday and design objects, fruit and vegetable still lifes, human and animal portraits, landscapes and cityscapes allude to visual features and image constructions that have been used in photography, advertising, magazines and illustrated books, and in films. What interests him in this context is analogue source material and duplication methods, and the development of different types of images in the history of the image before they were incorporated into the digital flood of the now omnipresent archive of available images. His photographic works, which do not usually exceed the format of a magazine or printed material, comprise either collages of acquired printed matter or newly-composed photographs.
