SB. xii+196pp.Published Price £16.99 Specimen Entry:Jasper Francis Royds, second son of Colonel Royds, M.P. for the Sleaford Division of Lincolnshire, 1910-22, was born on October 19th 1896. He was educated at Eton, and, entering the Navy, was appointed to H.M.S. Commonwealth in 1915, becoming sub-lieutenant in April, 1917. He had command of a Picquet boatin action at Zeebrugge in 1917, and was killed in November 9th in that year through accidental collision with a R.N.A.S. lorry while riding a motor bicycle. He was buried in Fulbeck Churchyard, Lincolnshire. Specimen Entry:William Ewartt Thorne, son of Will James Thorne, Esquire, M.P. for the Plaistow Division of West Ham since 1906, was born on July 6th, 1886. He was educated at at Credon Road School, ,Plaistow, and at the outbreak of War was in the employment of the Corporation of West Ham as a carpenter and Joiner. He enlisted in the Essex Regiment on November 2nd, 1914, and went overseas on December 29th, 1916. He was reported wounded and missing at Ypres on August 12th, 1917, and reported killed on August 8th, 1918. It would appear that he was wounded and carried to a dressing station, which was afterwards bombed and everyone in it blown up. His name is perpetuated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres.
