Scholarly study of the dialects of this rare Germanic language, related to Bavarian and still spoken in a small region of northern Italy; based on unpublished manuscripts dating from the early 1950s. Schweizer was involved in Himmler's dubious racial mythology program during World War two, but his linguistic work is still respected. Text in German, but there is an English version of the Foreword. Stout paperback; groß, one might say. Light general wear, faint creases to cover, dent at head of spine; appears unread. Text clean; xliv, 972 pages; bibliography. 6¾" by 9½".
