First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. First Edition. 538pp glossy oversized hardcover has a sunned backstrip (title remains legible), it has a lower corner crease on frt cover and someone had pulled it off the shelf improperly and tore the gutters down 2.25" of the inner layer of cardboard at the head of spine. It has received an amateur repair that will hold the book together for life *if someone does not do the above, again*. Otherwise, as usual, filled with the best horses receiving the best awards, including a nice 3pp article by Dermot Forde entitled - 'Ireland and Her Horses, A Remarkable Renaissance' that ends with the line - "Bred in Ireland, - the best credential a horse can have", A decent photo of Christopher Reeve competing at the challenge of Champions in Gladstone. Interesting, beautiful driftwood, twig and natural equine sculpture by Deborah Butterfield and the usual tempting adverts, luxury goods and destinations.
