Add to basketHalf Leather. Condition: Fine. Limited Edition. The Folio Society's limited edition of 'Othello', from their Letterpress Shakespeare series which, in my humble opinion, is one of their greatest productions. 'Othello' is in fine condition, having been preserved in Folio's original packaging. The edition was limited to 3850 hand-numbered copies, this being #658. The folio-sized text volume has been exquisitely bound by hand at the Craft Bindery of G. Lachenmaier, Germany, in dark red Nigerian goatskin leather with marbled paper boards by Jemma Lewis. The spine has been blocked in gold and the top page edges have been gilded. The text has been printed letterpress on luxurious Zerkall mould-made paper and the stunning design is completed by dark red endpapers and a ribbon marker. The commentary volume has been bound in matching dark red buckram blocked in gold to the spine, with a paper title label to the upper board. The commentary includes the text of the play with full explanatory notes. The text for both volumes is taken from the Oxford Shakespeare. Both books are housed in a buckram-bound solander box with a leather spine-label titled in gold, and a dividing board between the two volumes. The solander box measures 15" x 11" x 2¾"; the letterpress volume is 14" x 10¾", and the commentary volume, 8¾" x 5¾". All parts of this beautiful edition are in fine condition without flaws. I handle books as little as possible in order to preserve their condition so while photographs are limited, the quality is guaranteed. HEAVY/OVERSIZE. Buyers may be asked for extra postage. Enquiries welcome. ORDERS professionally packed, tracked and insured. U.S. BUYERS: Books remain exempt from import duty under U.S. law. I ship with a DDP service and provide accurate customs forms to protect buyers from unnecessary charges and to minimise delays.
