Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. M.E. Sharpe, United States, 2012. Hardcover. First Edition(Number Line to 1). Edited by Patrick Peebles. 195 pages. An ideal supplement for any course treating the history or culture of South Asia, this collection offers a cross-section of South Asia's ancient and modern classics of thought and expression. It includes a unique mix of poetry, novels, drama, and political and philosophical treatises, each accompanied by a detailed introductory essay on the specific historical context, the author, and the work. Very Good. Issued without a DJ. The covers look terrific (see photos). The page edges and pages are absolutely bright and clean, and there are No markings or underlining. However, a fair number of the pages, mostly toward the end of the book, have a little waviness/crinkling, mostly at the top. Not clear on what would have caused this, perhaps some object was somehow pushing against them. You can see it in the last two photos. It will not affect the quality of the reading experience, and I halved the intended price upon discovering it.
