From Preface: This book is very properly a child of The American Bee Journal. It was written over a period of several years by a variety of people under everchanging circumstances. The text is composed of questions submitted to The American Bee Journal and the answers we gave. Some of the questions are from our back files and appear in print for the first time and some of the answers have undergone canges as beekeeping knowledge, equipment, and management techniques have also undergone changes. Duplicate questions have been avoided wherever possible. The questions and answers range from the simple to the complex and they came from beekeepers, large and small, both experienced and beginner, from nearly every known spot in the world where bees and beekeepers live. The only common denominator was that they all contained problems and we tried to help. It has been estimated that there has been more written about bees and beekeeping than any other topic with the exception of religion and yet, there are still perhaps many more questions than answers. These particular questions and answers have been complied and edited into book form in the hopes that tey may answer your questions about bees and beekeeping. Three volumes in black cloth with gilt spine lettering in glassine dustwrappers, the reprint being "a photolithographic facsimile of the second edition" unabridged. A very good set, in worn and torn dustwrappers. All three volumes square and clean, with minimal edgewear to the covers, solid hinges and bindings, but with a small amount of underlining and marginalia, most noticeable in volume 2. Individual flaws by volume include one page (363) that has been crinkled and bent in volume 1, and crimping at the spine tips of volume 3. All three glassine dustwrappers are darkened from the black covers, with chips and tears at the edges and spine end - for protection only - no collectible value. 456, 433, and 444 pages, respectively, a nice set, with fold out intact in volume 1 and attractive matching bindings. Romilly was a prominent Parliamentarian and lawyer in the 18th century, working for legal reform and the abolition of slavery. Multiple volumes, may require additional shipping for priority or international orders.

Harrison and Sons Ltd. 1951. Hardback with no DW. Red, textured limp boards, gilt. Boards are a little worn. Inner hinge cracked o/w contents clean and sound.

In the original green cloth with gilt titles and decorations, both volumes are Near Fine, cloth lightly rubbed, front hinge on volume II cracked. Daniel Woolsey Voorhees was a United States Senator from Indiana, a leader of the Democratic party and an anti-war Copperhead during the Civil War. A close friend of Abraham Lincoln, due to his stature he gained the nickname "the Tall Sycamore of the Wabash". A quite SCARCE and handsome 2 volume set.

Probably first edition hard back binding in publisher's original slate blue and navy blue paper covered boards, Cinque ports coat of arms in gilt to the front cover. Landscape 8'' x 10''. Contains 64 pages with four maps and monochrome photographs of Dover docks as they were in the 1920's showing: 'T. S. S. Cote d'Azur', turbine twin-screw steamer 'Canterbury', dock constructions, horse drawn wagons, vintage car ferries, Ropeway from Tilmanstone Colliery to the docks, cranes and platforms for loading vehicles, Southern Railway Motor Car Ferry Service.
