Condition: Good. Good condition book without dust jacket. Boards are clean with little wear. Book has clean age-toned contents, pen front endpaper 1917, 48pp, colour frontis and illustrations, webbing showing rear gutter.

Pictorial green cloth, small 4to, unpageinated but c100pp text and illustrations, including full page colour plates, of which there are 20 full page and 2 double page. The only attribution on some of the plates is to Edith Cubitt, others are not signed but very much in the same style and may well be by her too. Very nice copy with bright, unblemished cover and slightky faded spine title still distinct and legible. Owners inscriptions to front pastedown and half title. Some minor finger marks or slight foxing to margins else text generally very clean and sound., no scribbling or other blemishes. VG+ Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

This copy is signed on a laid in page by both Louis A. Hieb and Tony Hillerman, the laid in page also states that this edition is limited to 1000 copies. The condition of the book is Very Good (no visible shelf wear; normal aging; binding tight). The condition of the slipcase is Very Good (light shelf wear to the bottom edge). 88pp. Signed by Author(s).

Spine bumped, worn and faded with small splits to top and bottom. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges rubbed. Some scratches to covers. Both joints and some hinges cracked. Front endpaper partially detached. A little surface paper damage to front endpaper where a list had been stuck. Page browning and some foxing plus some marks to contents, including a co A few small tears to margins. One plate is creased. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

Beautifully illustrated with many Full-Page and In-Text Colour illustrations by Edith Cubitt. Frontis has a Full-Page Colour Illus. of the 3 Bears Dancing. Title page has a Colour Vignette of the 3 Bears walking in line, with Red and Black Lettering. Half-title page has B&W Vignette of the 3 Bears seated. Grey Endpapers illustrated with White Bears. Unpaginated. Story followed by a list of 10 other tiles in the Little Mother series. Red cloth spine with Red paper-covered boards with Colour il;lus of the dancing bears on front. Black & White lettering. 5 1/2" Tall, 180g. Very slight edge wear. Gift inscription on half-title page. No other inscriptions. Hinges sound and text block firm but binding is cracked at 2 pages. Very occasional spot of foxing.

Back cover has crease marks in board, slight chips to tope edge, some overall grubbiness and a small purple stain centre. All colour plates inside and front cover printed boards are in first-rate condition, no tears or marks to illustrations (some few carry minor foxing at edges, but not in main body of plate). Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Slight foxing front/rear pages, but body of book mostly clean and unfoxed. Previous owner's inscription in ink, neat, dated 1911. Edges browned slightly. Illustrator: Edith Cubitt.
