Hardcover. Condition: Good. First Edition. This book is the first volume in a 4 volume set of books that cover important military battles of the 19th century; each volume is complete in itself. Contains 16 illustrations. Chapters on Napoleon, Abercromby in Egypt, Barbary States' War, Trafalger, Ogdensburgh, Tecumseh, Battle of Bridgewater, New Orleans, Waterloo, etc., etc. Original red cloth pictorial covers have a bit of light wextremity wear and slight sunning to the spine (the spine lettering and decoration is quite legible). The rear hinge is cracked, but still holding well, and there are two brownish colored spots at the bottom of the text block that extend for about 150 pages, however the text is still legible. There is a previous owner name and note on the front end paper, and the same owner name on the rear end paper. This is NOT a modern reprint. Note: The book states that the Copyright is 1904, Printed in 1903, title page is 1907. Appears to be an uncommon volume is an is an assumed first edition. ; B&W Illustrations; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 452 pages.
