In his journey to the end of night Rops paused to consider suicides, Satanism, bestiality, absinthe, naughty nuns, voyeurism, and wild sex in the working class. He didn't stop with the bourgeoisie - he scandalized his whole society. Whether this bosom friend of Charles Baudelaire was the most artistic pornographer of the 19th century or its most pornographic artist is a difficult judgement - regardless, he takes the podium in either category.Condition:Front joint starting, some chips to paper covering boards, light rubbing at extremities; some toning; some sprung leaves; Origianl paper cover loose in binding. Good.OCLC Number / Unique Identifier:1486732.
