Two-volume set in full chocolate brown goatskin with gilt spine titles between raised bands; 8vo; 106pp; top edge gilt; patterned endsheets; illustrated with tipped-in sepia-toned photo at frontispiece plus 5 others throughout text, 1 drawing, 1 color plate of "silks" plus 10 color plates of flies & materials; introduction by Leslie Magee. Contains a list of subscribers to this edition. The second volume contains 36 specimen flies, tied and mounted on 10 boards by Stuart Bowdin of Nelson and signed by him on the limitation page. Dressings for the flies appear on opposing pages. Both volumes are housed in a 2-part leather and cloth slipcase. Limited to 60 numbered copies plus an additional 10 hors commerce copies lettered A-J. This is copy "D." The deluxe edition was published 5 years after the trade edition as the time taken for tying the flies. This copy fine in slipcase-a spectacular production which sold out upon publication.
