Contact seller5-star sellerRebound in saddle-sewn three-hole brown manila flexible cardstock covers; past owner's name handwritten in ink on front cover. H 25.25cm x L 18.25cm. Interior text comprised of poems by W.H. Nesbit; text collates as complete but book is missing at least its original preliminary and terminal leaves; Table of Contents specifies 93… pages but leaves are unnumbered and only 39 leaves (i.e. 78 pages present). Pages 25-26 and 29-30 are bound out-of-sequence as are several illustrated leaves. Page decorations as well as color and b/w illustrations are by Edna Longest, several of which imitate the idealized feminine style most often reflected in the contemporary work of Harrison Fisher and the "Gibson Girls" of Charles Dana Gibson. Edna Longest illustrated at least one Saturday Evening Post cover for the August 27, 1910 (Vol. 183 - #9) issue. OCLC only locates copies of this Chicago Charles C. Thompson imprint at three member institutions plus a single copy of a Toronto imprint of the same book held by Library and Archives Canada in Ottawa.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. This is a great 100+ year old book with beautiful all color illustrations of the Duck-Luck family going about town dressed in human clothing and bonnets. This old book is clean, solid, and in good shape! This is a hardcover book with full page color illustrations throughout. The binding is strong with… all pages firmly attached. The pages are clean with no writing or tears. The covers are in nice shape with a color illustration of the Duck Luck family on the front cover. The paper spine had worn away and the spine has been restored using black cloth tape (it looks natural - almost original). The book has been placed in a fresh mylar jacket. The book is undated but is from circa 1916 based on research.
