Reprint (originally published 1929). xii, 278 pages. Hardcover: H 23.25cm x L 15.25cm. Green dust jacket soiled with some toning/staining; nicks, short tears, and bumping at edges. Blue cloth. Negligibly small stain to text block's top edge; faint stains to fore-edge. Endpapers toned; interior leaves mostly remain clean. Binding is firm. Laid-in at front endpapers is March 2004 article from Harrisonburg, Virginia newspaper "Daily News Record" regarding Shenandoah pottery. With Foreword, Preface, and b/w illustrations. Features eleven chapters - "The Shenandoah pottery," "The Shenandoah Valley," "Peter Bell," "John Bell," "The Bell pottery in Strasburg, Va.," "The Eberly pottery," "Stoneware," "The Keister pottery," "A.W. Baecher," "Collecting a collection," and "Catalogue of stamps and marks used by the potters" - followed by "Catalogue of Collection" (pages 109-270) and "Supplement: The early Moravian potteries at Bethabara and Salem, North Carolina.".
