This marvelous account is written by the astronauts themselves (Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Buzz Aldrin) in collaboration with authors Gene Farmer and Dora Jane Hamblin. Dr. Karl Henzie (1926-1993) was an accomplished optics scientist, and flew several missions, including Spacelab and the Space Shuttle Challenger (he died while climbing Mt. Everest). The GT-12 referred to by Aldrin is the Gemini 12 mission (November 11, 1966) in which Aldrin was the pilot while Henzie ran ultraviolet stellar spectra experiments for that mission.
