"Außerordentlich seltener Privatdruck des jungen Bremers Hermann von Eelking (1774-1858). Seine antikisierende Ode (Epode, Paradoxen und Hymne) rief umgehend zwei literarische Gegner auf den Plan. In Regensburg erschien anonym "Die Erscheinung. Ein Gegenstück zum Acheron" (1799) und in Königsberg "Acheron und Anti-Acheron" (1799…) vom Kriegsrat Scheffner. Eelking war Doktor der Philosophie, trat später in dänische Militärdienste, lebte in Rudolstadt und in der Schweiz und starb in Konstanz. Er gab die kurzlebige Zeitschrift "Originale und Copien" (1797), kleine Gedichtsammlungen und Übersetzungen heraus. ?Unbeschnitten, Rücken rissig und mit Fehlstellen; etwas fleckig. ? Goed.
