Encuadernación de tapa blanda. Condition: Muy bien. Dust Jacket Condition: Muy bien. An exhibition about film as a material for contemporary art. Curated by Neus Miró, the show brings together several international artists who have explored film in the period from the sixties to the present. The selected artists take an experimental approach to working with the properties of film, unfettered by the demands of the film industry. The works in the exhibition modify the conventions of cinema from three different perspectives: by analysing the convergence of photography and cinema, modifying traditional forms of projection and creating new kinds of viewing spaces, and renewing the models of film narrative. The catalogue includes essais by outstanding contributors, and reproductions of works by Hollis Frampton, Stan VanDerBeek, Dan Graham, Ben Rivers and Stan Douglas, as well as pieces by Lis Rhodes and Peter Kubelka.

Pictorial Boards. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. 96pp, 45 color illustrations. Text in English. Designed by Lorraine Wild and Victor Hu: Green Dragon Office. "From 2006 to 2009, James Welling photographed the Glass House, the landmark architectural estate that Philip Johnson built in New Canaan, Connecticut in 1949. Welling's photos offer a decided departure from the familiar views of the house and grounds. Using digital cameras set on a tripod and holding a variety of filters in front of the lens, he created tinted veils and distortions that transformed the image at the moment of exposure, endowing it with powerful swells of glowing color. As Welling described it, the use of filters enabled his project to become "a laboratory for ideas about transparency, reflectivity and color". This lovely hardbound monograph also includes an essay by Noam M. Elcott as well as a transcribed interview between the photographer and noted architectural historian Sylvia Lavin about the project. A most handsome example of the 2010 Damiani first edition additionally SIGNED "James Welling" in black ink on the rear colophon. Signed by the Photographer. Photography Monograph.
