Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Covers have surface insect damage, heavier on the spine. Insect damage to the front inner hinge, with some paper loss, and the lower spine edge of the front free endpaper, which is partly detached. Folded photo of the band has an approx. 5" horizontal slit to the upper margin, has a crease and tiny tear to the outer edge, and was misfolded once. ; Wording on the front cover is History of the 71st Artillery C. A. C. In the Great War 1917-1919. "Organized in the Coast Defenses of Boston, Mass. May 10, 1918. Demobilized at Camp Devens, Mass. March 6, 1919.".

Cloth. Condition: Very Good/Near Fine. 1st Edition. 4to., 192pp. Sharp First Edition with no date on copyright page but c.1919, shortly after demobilization. Bound in publisher's red cloth with titles and illustration in black on front board. Photos, drawings and charts throughout. Square, tight and clean throughout. Some wear to spine ends. Rubbing to hinges, edges and tips. A few light annotations in pencil. A very pretty collectable copy of an uncommon title, especially in nice condition.
