Three page typed letter to F.D.R. dated Oct. 26, 1934. Tuckerman knew Roosevelt so the letter starts: "Dear Franklin". Although he says he is still a Republican he believes the N.R.A. was unconstitutional."The President faced a terrible situation in March 1933 and the N.R.A. did as well as other schemes to pull us together and start us going again." He offers twelve detailed arguments against the N.R.A. Tuckerman was a lawyer, former NY assemblyman and was considered an expert on Constitutional Law. He was also the cousin of T.S. Eliot. Good with the usual folds.
