The book is bound in blue cloth over blue paper boards with illustration of Betsy with her doll Jennifer stamped in purple on the front cover. Corners and spine caps softly worn. Endpapers in the color purple. A 4 " x 3" pice of paper is torn off the back free end paper on the bottom edge. A 1" x .5" piece of paper is also torn from the bottom edge of a page near the middle of the book. Sprinkling of foxing on the half title page and the last page. Name of previous owner printed in pencil on the ffe. Otherwise, pages are clean and unmarked. Illustrated in shades of purple and in black and white. Rebecca Caudill was an American author of literature for children and a Newbery Honor winner for her book Tree of Freedom. Like the Velveteen Rabbit, the doll in this story was very well loved. Unpaginated.
