First Edition
1st ed. 2 vols. 4to. (120) pp. 30 engraved plates on India paper with tissue guards. Elliot was a topographical draughtsman in the East between 1822 and 1824; later his sketches were developed and finished by Samuel Prout, Clarkson Stanfield, and others. Contemporary black-morocco rebacked and marble boards, spine gilt with raised bands, gilt titles on spines; plates with scattered foxing, but a very good copy of the uncommon India proof issue.
