The mailing envelope it came in has a horse drawn by Ellison in bold brown color (wide felt pen) running from right to left across the front of the envelope, & from top to bottom, with the receiver's address (same as book inscription) in the middle of the horse. Ellison's return address is accompanied by a drawing of his personal vignette in black ink, which matches one of the drawings on the ffep. The author's writing style in both the book & the letter is reminiscent of the way Charlie Russell wrote. This, a very special copy to a friend of Ellison. Former owner applied a band of reinforcing tape around the top of the backstrip; shows 1" on each panel. A choice collector's copy in spite of being a second printing. Signed by Author(s).

Few citizens of the twentieth century can make this statement with any claim to authenticity, but Slim Ellison does that and more. The author of the best selling Cowboys Under the Mogollon Rim has shared his life with thousands of readers who have been fascinated with his tales of the Old West's final era. In "More Tales," this man who is truly one of the last of his kind shows us more of what life was really life both on the range and in the towns-----back in the days when a man still had to look out for himself. Here are the cowboys, the wranglers, the prostitutes, the Indians----not the glamorized characters Hollywood has given us, but the real McCoy. Slim recalls the tales he spun with his partner Chaw as they rode the line for the Flying V and the Q Ranches, as well as the good times they had when they went into town to "let their spur straps out. A special feature of this book is its historic photographs of Slim and his family and friends that are sure to delight young and old readers, new and longtime readers, new and long-time fans. Pictures, talesj and authentic dialogue all capture the spirit of a bygone era for modern readers, as well as for future generations. Signed by Author(s).
