First Edition. 12mo, ca. 4" x 7" , pp. xxi, [1], 230, recently rebound inbrown cloth covered boards with leather spine label in fine condition , contents age toned , some brown spots, but generally very good or better. There are a few passages with pencil underlines- most appear to indicate comments that un -favorable about the country. Howes 740 indicates that he " takes a dim view of the Republic, especially the backwoods regions". One of the many such reports by European visitors, especially English, from around this time. Note: due to size and weight, Shipping outside the USA or priority shipping should cost about that of an average book.
