Laid in is a 1996 one-page typed letter signed by Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, on her congressional letterhead. She has signed "Ileana" in blue pen; also includes the word "Thanks!" in her hand. She notes in the letter that she's enclosing the book, and she quotes a passage from its Introduction: "In 1989, Florida elected to Congress its first Hispanic Representative in 166 years, Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. She is the first Cuban-American and the first Hispanic woman to serve in the United States Congress.".…
