Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. This is the journal of a young British Ensign who was in Canada and fought in New England from 1776 to 178. He returned to England only to come back to Canada from 1782 - 1787 where he describes the Lake Ontario region and also traveled to the southern colonies where he spent a day with George Washington at Mount Vernon. Original publisher's blue cloth covers with gilt spine lettering. There is a previous owner's blind stamp on the front end paper with two dates above and below it, else this is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no other interior or exterior markings and no bookplates. The dust jacket is now in a protective, removable, acetate cover. ; B&W Illustrations, Maps; Oblong 8vo 8" to 9" tall; 377 pages.
