Large, oversize volume with brown faux leather covers, white designs with gilt lettering; color cardboard map set onto front cover (detached, see condition). 5 slightly raised bands, gilt designs and lettering on spine. 308 pp. 100 color maps, plus 4 color map reproductions laid in (these maps are not listed, possibly… included from another source). Text in Spanish. There are 3 types of copy of this book, of which this is type "C," no. 236. Type "C" has "1,100 copies with a sheet of special cardboard that represents in four colors the same map as the interior sheets" (translated from paragraph on a cover page). This "intelligent selection of a hundred sheets is collected with the faithful reproduction of the most significant maps of our country, from the very eve of the Columbian discovery until the end of the 19th century" (translated from "Liminar" page). This is a beautiful, nearly flawless copy without interior wear or markings, and is a beautiful addition to any collection. VG-. Cardboard map supposed to be attached to front cover is detached, but included in the book. 4 map reproductions laid in, not listed as part of the book. Contents are beautifully clean and tight.
