Includes index and a page listing the supplies he took. Eric completes the trifecta with his younger brother, Tim, traveling south through Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico (3,000 miles) thus closing the circle on his three great treks: Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails, mostly alone, all before the age of 21. He was the first to ever complete the Continental Divide trail. Quite an accomplishment for someone so young. Well written.

First hand account of the author's experiences hiking the Continental Divide, 3000 miles, the author's greatest challenge at his career at that point, at age 20. Previously he had already hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (first person to do so) and the Appalachian Trail. The journey took 5 months in 1972; he did it along with his younger brother Tim. During the trek they struggled with avalanches, freezing temperatures, rock slides, wildlife and scorching heat in Wyoming which finally sent Tim home. Many black and white and color photographic illustrations. . Book is bound in turquoise with dark blue illustration of two hikers on the front cover and titles on the spine. Near fine condition. Small former owner's address label top right corner of end paper. Signed by Eric Ryback with an inscription to the former owner, also a hiker. Scarce, classic hiking book. Signed by Author(s).
