Named for Senator Stephen Douglas, the fort's most strategic era was in the 1870s and early 1880s at the height of the Indian Wars. Built on the eastern edge of Salt Lake City the fort was not officially closed until 1991. Besides a brief overview Browning provides a walking tour of the old installation. Includes a tipped in fort map and a walking tour outline left by the previous owner. Very good copy of the soft bound first edition. 57 pages.
