Light foxing to page edges and endpapers, clean text throughout. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown endpaper (Geoffrey A.M. Whittall) and name to front free endpaper. Reprinted from the 17th edition of 1850, with woodcut of ices houses by Eric Gill on p165. An early production from Pepler and Gill, who later established the St. Dominic's Press.
