Paper covered boards, the paper is red with a heavy gold repeat pattern to it, ivory marbled paper spine sections with gilt titles on the spines, Top page edges dyed red. Housed within plain ivory coloured card slipcase. The slipcase is worn, rubbed at the edges and dust darkened and one of the edges has split. Book conditions very good plus to near fine, spines slightly dust marked, there are darkened patches on the covers of the first two volumes, from handling it appears, other than this the condition is fine, the contents are exceptionally clean in all the four volumes. A very attractive set enhanced by the illustrations of Eric Fraser in volumes 1 and 3 and by Frank Martin in volumes 2 and 4.
