Published as Form Books no. 8, with an introduction by Eric Mottram (who died before publication) and a tentative handlist of books by Simms compiled by Harry Gilonis and Peter Quartermain. Dent with a short split to the front on the bird's leg (making it less obvious than it might be), running decreasingly through much of the book though not ruinously; otherwise Very Good, slightly rubbed and marked outwardly, the staples a little rusty.…

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good Plus. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good Plus. 1st Edition. 8vo. Cream paper-covered boards with spine label affixed. 216pp. With a cover illustration by Patricia Lippert and an introduction by Eric Mottram. Although not called for, this is one of 100 numbered copies signed by the author, which limitation perhaps encompassed the copies in hardback. A little light spotting to the edges, the boards with a couple of minor blemishes, but a crisp example in the dust jacket, itself slightly spotted on the reverse but outwardly bright, with a couple of tiny marks in production.
