Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First edition, limited to 250 copies printed at the Chiswick Press on pure rag hand-made paper, 200 of which were for sale. This copy is numbered 37(a) and a slip pasted to the base of the colophon identifies if as one of an unspecified number of unsold copies subsequently passed to…the publishers Hollis & Carter Ltd. and presented here in the usual second state "less elaborate" buckram binding. 4to. 87pp. Green buckram with bevelled edges, lettered in gold at the spine and upper board. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Ravilious provides a frontispiece engraving and three engraved plates. Some spotting and browning to the endpapers and pastedowns, and just a trace of further spotting to the half-title and to the concluding colophon leaf. Some light offsetting from the engravings to the proceeding and facing leaves. A very good copy, with only a tiny trace of the usual fading to the buckram.
